It’s a key player in preserving the health of Deep Bay and supporting Yuen Long’s growth. The Ha Tsuen Sewage Pumping Station plays a vital, though often unseen, role in our city’s well-being. Originally, the station diligently served the community. However, as Yuen Long expanded, the station needed to keep pace. A major project, PWP No. 4368DS, was undertaken to expand the Ha Tsuen Sewage Pumping Station. This project also included the construction of nine kilometers of new sewers in the Yuen Long South and Ha Tsuen areas. A brand new sewage pumping station was built near Shui Tsiu San Tsuen Road to further enhance the system. The expansion of the Ha Tsuen Sewage Pumping Station wasn’t a standalone endeavor. It was part of a larger initiative to improve Deep Bay’s water quality. This undertaking demonstrates the commitment to environmental sustainability alongside urban development. The project wrapped up in January 2014, costing around $550 million. This investment highlights the importance placed on effective wastewater management.
