Could a school building have a more intriguing name than Gymnázium Arabská? This Prague institution, standing proudly on Arabská Street, has been a launchpad for countless successful individuals since its establishment in 1958. Initially a single eleven-year school, Gymnázium Arabská quickly expanded. By 1960, it boasted a new wing with specialized classrooms and labs, accommodating a growing student body. They even added an eastern wing with a gym and cafeteria. This school wasn’t just about bricks and mortar. It was a place where young minds were nurtured. The school fostered a culture of academic excellence, resulting in a 100% university placement rate for its graduates. Speaking of graduates, Gymnázium Arabská boasts an impressive alumni list. Television presenter Mirka Čejková, actor and singer Vojtěch Dyk, and even the former governor of the Czech National Bank, Miroslav Singer, all walked these halls. Today, Gymnázium Arabská remains a vibrant hub of learning. The school, with its diverse programs in humanities, science, and programming, continues to shape the future. It also provides a fantastic space for extracurricular activities. Students can enjoy a large outdoor area with a track, tennis courts, and fields for various sports.
