The original Grace Church was established in 1874 a far cry from its current location. Services were held in a humble rented building. Eventually the congregation outgrew its space. The current building a stunning example of Gothic Revival architecture began to take shape in 1912. Eden Smith the architect skillfully blended beauty and practicality. The church’s imposing limestone structure rose amidst the trees. The grand opening was in 1913 a moment of celebration and joy. But the construction wasn’t over.
Over the years additions were made. In 1923 a parish hall was completed. This provided much-needed space for community gatherings. A chapel was added in 1938 completing Smith’s original design. A two-story education centre followed in 1955. The centre now houses offices and a childcare centre. The church continues to adapt to the needs of its community.
