Whispers of the past linger in Gąsin. This seemingly quiet neighborhood in Pruszków holds a rich history. Gąsin was once a noble village. Its existence is documented in the second half of the 16th century. It was part of the Warsaw region then.

Imagine Gąsin as a thriving hub centuries ago. It existed within the larger context of the bustling Warsaw area. The area was part of the Blonie county within the Mazovia region of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.

In the 19th century Gąsin transformed. It became a farm belonging to the Helenów estate. Today Gąsin is a less urbanized part of Pruszków. Much of its land remains agricultural. Kazimierz Promyk Street is its main thoroughfare. It’s an extension of Provincial Road 760.

The Utrata River forms Gąsin’s northern border separating it from the nearby town of Łbików. The eastern part of Gąsin is primarily residential. You’ll find mainly single-family homes here.

West of Błonie Street lies Gąsin’s industrial zone. It’s home to logistics centers. The Customs Office also resides here. The Strabag Group has its headquarters in this area.

Gąsin was once part of the Helenów commune. In the autumn of 1954 it became part of Pruszków. A planned garbage dump is situated in Gąsin. It is the Góra Łbikowska landfill which is planned to be closed.

There’s also a retention pond and the Pruszków combined heat and power plant. Gąsin boasts connections to Błonie and Sochaczew via the PKS bus system. Local bus line number 4 also serves the area.

A municipal cemetery and crematorium are located in the southern part of Gąsin on Południowa Street. Gąsin represents the westernmost part of Pruszków. It borders the towns of Moszna-Wieś and Koszajec.

A notable part of Gąsin’s history is its Daewoo factory. In 1993 Daewoo Electronics Manufacturing opened a television factory on Parzniewska Street. By 2007 it employed 900 people. The factory covered 17 hectares. Its production halls spanned 61,000 square meters.

The factory produced about 2000 televisions daily approximately 2 million annually. It included LCD and CRT lines. The factory started mass layoffs in 2009. Physical liquidation began in 2012. Today a logistics park stands in its place.

As you stand here today in Gąsin remember this. This seemingly quiet neighborhood bears witness to centuries of change. From noble village to industrial hub. Gąsin’s story is a thread woven into the rich tapestry of Polish history. Its past echoes in the streets and fields before us.
