Hidden within Vasastan, a vibrant neighborhood in Stockholm, lies Galleri Hind. It’s not just a gallery; it’s a family-run art haven, opened in 2019. Galleri Hind pulses with creative energy. It serves as both a studio and an exhibition space. The family creates their own art and showcases works by other artists. This unique approach makes Galleri Hind a dynamic hub where art is born and celebrated. The artist Hind Orfali, who was born in Bethlehem in 1962, has a long history with art. She studied at Prisma, Folkhögskolan in 1999. She then continued her studies at the Art School at Folkhögskolan from 2000 to 2002 in Upplands Väsby, Stockholm. Now living in Stockholm, her fascination with doors permeates her work. She sees doors as having individual characters. Each door, like each person, holds secrets and stories waiting to be unveiled. For her, opening a closed door is an act of courage, mirroring the challenges and opportunities we face in life. Galleri Hind has hosted a diverse range of exhibitions. In 2024, the gallery showcased the watercolors of Lucas Kramer, a young artist originally from Värmland. This was his first solo exhibition, featuring landscapes and abstract expressions. This exhibit highlights Galleri Hind’s commitment to promoting emerging talent. The gallery also provides a platform for established artists. Hind Orfali herself has exhibited her work in numerous galleries throughout Stockholm. These include Galleri Riddaren, Galleri 67, and Galleri Ängel, among others. Galleri Hind is more than just a display space. It’s a testament to the power of art, family, and the courage to open new doors.
