Ever wonder what it’s like to shop where a giant aquarium once stood? That’s Galerie Butovice. This isn’t just another shopping center. It’s a Prague landmark with a quirky past.
Galerie Butovice opened its doors in 2005 in Prague 5. It quickly became a popular destination. People loved the wide variety of shops and a massive aquarium filled with exotic fish. Imagine shopping with colorful fish swimming nearby. It was quite a sight.
Sadly the aquarium was removed in 2010. Galerie Butovice underwent reconstruction on its first floor. But the shopping center still offers plenty to explore.
Today Galerie Butovice boasts over eighty different tenants. The leasable area covers more than fifty thousand square meters. You will find it all on two above-ground floors. It is one of the largest shopping destinations in Prague.
The INVESTIKA investment company acquired Galerie Butovice in October 2019. They saw its potential. In 2023 they added Butky Park, an outdoor leisure area. This reflects their commitment to social and environmental impact. The park improves the area and attracts more visitors to Galerie Butovice.
Getting here is easy. The Nové Butovice metro station on line B is a short walk away. Several bus lines also stop nearby. If you prefer to drive there are over 1400 parking spaces available. You can park underground or in the outdoor parking lot.
Inside Galerie Butovice you will find a wide array of shops. There is something for everyone here. Prominent tenants include Albert H&M Intersport JYSK and Sinsay.
Remember the gift voucher option if you need a present. They are available in nominal values of CZK 500 and CZK 1000.
Galerie Butovice is open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Albert hypermarket opens earlier at 7 a.m. and closes later at 10 p.m. This makes it easy to fit shopping into your schedule.
Galerie Butovice is more than just a place to shop. It is a place where convenience meets community. Enjoy your visit to Galerie Butovice.
