What if walls could whisper the echoes of laughter and learning? Here at Fung Kai No.1 Primary School, they just might. This isn’t just a building. It’s a living testament to generations of students who walked these halls since 1932. Fung Kai No.1 Primary School, originally Fung Kai Primary School, was founded by the Liu Clan in Sheung Shui. Imagine a time when this school operated from the Liu Man Shek Tong Ancestral Hall. That’s how it all began. The school, deeply rooted in the community, served as a beacon of education during challenging times, even briefly closing due to the Pacific War in 1941. Growth was a constant companion for Fung Kai No.1 Primary School. By 1952, it expanded to include junior secondary education. The school blossomed further, relocating to Jockey Club Road in 1957. It wasn’t merely a place of instruction. It was a nurturing ground for young minds, instilling the values of “sincerity, trust, diligence, and sensitivity”. Fast forward to 2005, a significant transformation took place. Fung Kai Primary School transitioned to a whole-day schooling format. It then split, giving rise to the Fung Kai No.1 Primary School we stand before today and the Fung Kai Innovative School. The school’s motto, “Happy Learning, Healthy Growth”, encapsulates its dedication to holistic development. Fung Kai No.1 Primary School has continuously evolved, embracing technology and innovation in education. It boasts a robust IT infrastructure, integrated into the curriculum. This connection extends beyond its walls, linking with other Fung Kai schools and benefiting from shared resources. This school is more than bricks and mortar. It’s a legacy of learning, a testament to community spirit, and a promise for future generations.
