Welcome to the Freie evangelische Gemeinde Weimar. This isn’t just a building. It’s a story of faith resilience and community. About ten years ago a group of people had a vision. They wanted a place where everyone felt welcome. A place where they could experience God’s love. A place free from judgment. They founded the Freie evangelische Gemeinde Weimar. This church is part of a larger network. The Bund Freier evangelischer Gemeinden in Deutschland boasts over 400 member churches. The FeG Weimar embraces the evangelical tradition. It emphasizes a personal decision to follow Christ. The church is independent of the state. It relies on voluntary donations for funding. The name ‘Freie evangelische’ reflects these values. ‘Free’ signifies individual choice and independence. ‘Evangelical’ highlights its commitment to the Gospel. To the liberating message of Jesus Christ. The Freie evangelische Gemeinde Weimar is more than Sunday services. Since August 2019 it also houses the ‘lebensRAUM’. This is a community cafe located in Weimar’s city center. ‘lebensRAUM’ translates to ‘living space’. It’s a place of connection. A place for support. It hosts events for children with special needs. It provides assistance to single parents. The space is designed to be welcoming and inclusive. It’s also where the church holds its Sunday services at 10 am. The church actively participates in the local community. It works on social projects. The Bible forms the foundation of its beliefs and practices. The FeG Weimar is a vibrant community. It provides a spiritual home for those seeking faith. It warmly welcomes those with no religious background. It shows that faith can be experienced in everyday life. The FeG Weimar is not just a church building. It’s a place where people connect with God and each other. It’s a place where lives are transformed. It’s a testament to the enduring power of faith and community in the heart of Weimar.
