Picture this a vibrant community nestled in the heart of Tampa. This is the First Seventh Day Adventist Church a place of faith and fellowship. Established in 1894 with just twelve devoted members it’s a testament to perseverance. Imagine those early pioneers spreading the gospel on bicycles and horses.

The First Seventh Day Adventist Church began its journey humbly. Meetings were held in homes then a Presbyterian church chapel. Growth spurred the need for a dedicated space. A small school even existed briefly in the 1890s. Then in 1917 a more permanent school took root. Euhemia Taeger the first teacher started with just one room in a garage. This school now thrives as Tampa Adventist Academy.

The church moved several times. Locations included Marion Street Florida Avenue and Gladys and Nebraska Avenue. They even used their school gymnasium temporarily. Finally on August 7 1971 a grand opening celebrated their current location. This beautiful building stands as a symbol of their enduring faith.

Beyond its walls the church actively serves the community. They offer monthly community services. Helping hands are needed and volunteers are always welcome. The church also partners with Feeding Tampa Bay to assist those in need. The church’s outreach extends to health and financial classes. There are also programs for children and youth. Sabbath School women’s clubs youth groups Adventurers and Pathfinders all play a part in the vibrant life of the First Seventh Day Adventist Church.
