These educators, back in 1971, founded the Organização Educacional de Ribeirão Pires (OERP) to manage schools at all levels. The OERP officially became an entity in ’72. The institution’s journey began in a temporary location, the “Externato Nerina Adelfa Ugliengo.” However, the dream of a dedicated space was realized in 1991. FIRP – Faculdade de Ribeirã o Pires finally had its own home on this very street. Initially, FIRP – Faculdade de Ribeirã o Pires focused on teacher training. The first courses included Studies, Letters, Mathematics, and Pedagogy. These courses were officially recognized in 1976. As FIRP – Faculdade de Ribeirã o Pires grew, so did its offerings. New specializations were added, expanding the scope of education within these walls. Physical Education joined the curriculum. Then came Administration, further enriching the academic landscape. By 1999, several faculties merged under a single name: FIRP – Faculdade de Ribeirã o Pires. Today, FIRP – Faculdade de Ribeirã o Pires is the sole institution of higher learning in Ribeirão Pires. It has come a long way from its humble beginnings with 400 students. Now, nearly 850 students pursue their dreams within these walls.
