Others suggest “vase” an old German word for a male animal used for breeding. However there’s no evidence of the meadow being used for grazing. The Faßlberg’s location is also significant. It sits in the Maurer Wald south of the Lainzer Tiergarten bordering the 23rd district Liesing. Nearby peaks include the Antonshöhe and the Wilder Berg. The Güttenbach a stream flows around the Faßlberg’s northern and western sides.
