In 1963, a seed of faith was planted in Rockville, Maryland. This seed blossomed into Faith United Methodist Church, a place we stand before today. The burgeoning community of Old Farm provided fertile ground for this new Methodist parish. The Board of Missions and The Methodist Union saw the potential and seized the opportunity. They acquired a 4.5-acre parcel of land on Montrose Road. They also purchased a parsonage from Kettler Brothers. This parsonage, located at 12101 Old Bridge Road, was originally a model home. Faith United Methodist Church, true to its name, has always sought to create a sense of belonging and community. Their mission is clear: to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. They strive to be a place where people connect with their faith. They help individuals become followers of Jesus Christ. They share the good news of the gospel. Through this process of faith and community, they believe transformation happens, allowing love to spread outward into the world. Faith United Methodist Church embraces the core beliefs of the United Methodist Church. These beliefs align with many other Christian denominations. They believe in God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. They also value the teachings of the Bible. Beyond these core tenets, Faith United Methodist Church also emphasizes the unique aspects of the Methodist tradition. Grace plays a central role in their understanding of faith. They are actively involved in serving others around the world. They encourage their members to grow as disciples of Jesus Christ.
