St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church started it in a schoolhouse. This building was also used for prayer meetings.

In 1899, Westminster Presbytery planned to organize Fairview as a mission station. On March 1, 1899, the Session of St. Andrew’s formed Fairview Presbyterian Church. The first church building was likely erected in 1898 or early 1899. It was on Seventh Avenue.

In 1901, the congregation changed its name to Chalmers Presbyterian Church. By 1908, they needed a larger church. They secured property on 12th Avenue and Hemlock Streets. Construction began in 1911. The new church opened in August 1912. It included a large sanctuary. It was also a social center. It had a gymnasium, swimming pool, and classrooms. It aimed to attract young people.

In 1925, Chalmers Presbyterian entered church union. It became Chalmers United Church. A minority of anti-unionist members left. They formed Fairview Presbyterian Church.
