Founded in 1976 Fairfax Baptist Temple Academy stands as a testament to faith and education. It began as a small congregation meeting at Herndon High School. The church grew rapidly. They purchased six acres adjacent to the high school. This is where the Fairfax Baptist Temple Academy’s story truly begins.
Initially a ministry of the church the academy aimed to provide a Christian education. The goal was to serve church families and like-minded individuals. The school expanded quickly developing a reputation for academic excellence. This was coupled with a strong spiritual atmosphere. Parents saw the benefit of this unique educational approach. They asked for the school to grow.
In 1989 Pastor David Pittman took over leadership. His dynamic leadership transformed the church and school. The school expanded to include grades K3 through 12th. This was a significant achievement. Dr Samuel Dalton joined in 1999 to spearhead the high school’s development. The first graduating class celebrated their achievement in 2001.
