The Himmelfahrtskirche Sch\u00f6nberg isn’t just any church. It’s a pentagon-shaped sanctuary. It accommodates about 180 people. The ceiling is tent-like. Many small lights make it feel like you are under a star-filled sky. Sunlight makes the stained-glass windows behind the altar glow. Christian Oehler designed these windows. He linked the story of feeding the 5000 with the Last Supper. It is a powerful combination.
Enter through the north side of Himmelfahrtskirche Sch\u00f6nberg. The altar and pulpit are in the southeast part of the church. They stand before glass windows. To the right is a baptismal font. It sits before a colorful round window. The organ is on the left. Red-brown brick makes up the walls. The ceiling is wooden.
Below the church is a community hall. It is also pentagon-shaped. There is also an addition with a sacristy and a club room with a kitchen. Erwin Rohrberg designed the Himmelfahrtskirche Sch\u00f6nberg. He was a local architect. He also designed the Rosenberg Church and the Auferstehungskirche in Stuttgart.
