A metaphorical description: Estádio Municipal Anacleto Campanella is a cauldron of dreams. It simmers with the hopes of players and the passion of fans. This stadium in São Caetano do Sul has a history as vibrant as the Brazilian football itself.

The Estádio Municipal Anacleto Campanella opened its doors on January 2 1955. It has been a stage for countless matches. Its formal name honors Anacleto Campanella. He served as São Caetano do Sul’s mayor. He was in office from 1953 to 1957 and again from 1961 to 1965.

Originally it was known simply as Estádio Municipal. From 1964 to 1989, it carried the name of Lauro Gomes de Almeida. But the stadium reverted to its original name later.

The inaugural match saw São Bento triumph over XV de Piracicaba. Gilmar scored the lone goal. After São Bento folded the stadium was managed by the Municipal Prefecture of São Caetano do Sul.

Saad EC called this stadium home. That was before the club moved in the 2000s. The women’s side of Saad EC had great success here. They secured three national championships between 1989 and 2003.

In 1989, the Estádio Anacleto Campanella got a makeover. Two matches marked the reinauguration. Associação Atlética São Caetano drew with Ribeirão Pirense Futebol Clube. A team of veteran Brazilian players defeated a local São Caetano do Sul team.

Since 1991, AD São Caetano has used the Estádio Anacleto Campanella as its home. The stadium witnessed a significant event in 2001. The Campeonato Brasileiro Série A final took place here. Atlético Paranaense defeated AD São Caetano.

Modernization efforts in 1999 and 2000 improved the stadium. The bleachers were expanded. The field was reformed. The stadium’s attendance record reached 19805 people in 2001. AD São Caetano played against Atlético Mineiro that day.

The Estádio Municipal Anacleto Campanella has undergone several renovations. These occurred in 1989 2007 2008 2015 and 2018. Each upgrade has added to its legacy.

Today the Estádio Anacleto Campanella stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of football in São Caetano do Sul. It is more than just a stadium. It is a place where memories are made. It is a place where the community comes together. The stadium is a symbol of local pride.
