Back in 1988 Maria Regina Demarchi Fanani donated this land. Her donation allowed the construction of a school. She dedicated the land to honor her grandmother. Construction began in 1988. But it faced a two-year delay. Finally, in 1990, work resumed. The school was completed in 1991.
Initially, it was called EEPG Terra Nova I. In 1991 it offered the first to fourth grades. In 1992 the school was renamed. It became E.E.P.G. Maria Regina Demarchi Fanani. This honored the woman who donated the land. Later, in 1999, the name changed again. It became E.E. Maria Regina Demarchi Fanani. The school then expanded. It started offering fifth to eighth grades. It also included high school.
Maria Regina Demarchi Fanani was a successful businesswoman. She learned the trade from her father. Her family had a history of helping others.
