The Secretaria de Educação later implemented Portuguese for foreigners in 150 state language centers. The Centro de Estudo de Línguas directly impacted society.

In 2023 the CEL received recognition in the FRANC ECOLAB contest. The French consulate in Brazil sponsored it. The theme was the environment and preservation of the Cerrado. Professor Joilma Reis led the project.

Over the years more than 20000 students have attended CEL Antônio Raposo Tavares. They have used their language skills in their careers. Some have pursued studies in countries like France Spain Argentina Cuba the United States and Germany.

The CEL also promotes social projects. It encourages values of solidarity. Institutions like Lar Cora Coralina and Casa do Migrante have benefited from donations.
