Ever wondered where some of Nacka’s brightest young minds gather? That’s Eklidens skola. Founded in 1952, Eklidens skola stands as one of Sweden’s largest upper secondary schools.
Eklidens skola isn’t just a place for books and learning. It’s a hub of diverse talents and interests. The school is divided into six teams, each with its own profile. There are sports classes and music classes. You can also find science, society, international, technology, and design classes. Each profile offers specialized projects and field trips.
Imagine the halls of Eklidens skola buzzing with activity. Students rush between nine different buildings. Each building holds classrooms and lockers. The B building connects to Nacka Gymnasium. The P building houses the main office. It also has the principal’s office, a school nurse, and a counselor. From 2024, Nacka Gymnasium will reclaim the B building.
Six of these buildings link via a glass corridor. This corridor stretches across Eklidens skola. It makes moving between buildings easy. The conference center and music halls are accessible from outside.
Eklidens skola is located centrally on Järlahöjden in Nacka. It’s close to Nacka Gymnasium and Nacka Forum. Reaching Eklidens skola is easy by bus or Saltsjöbanan train. A trip from Slussen takes only about fifteen minutes.
Next to Eklidens skola is a sports facility with a swimming pool. There is also an ice rink and soccer fields. A track and field arena is close too. Nyckelviken, with its green spaces, is nearby. Each class at Eklidens skola has around 26 students. Two mentors support each student’s social and academic growth. The integrated special education program benefits everyone at Eklidens skola.
In January 2023, Eklidens skola faced a threat. A school shooting was rumored. The day after the threat, many students stayed home. Åsa Gustafsson shared this in a news report. Police investigated the threat. A home study day followed. During that week, guards stood in the glass corridor. All entrances except the main one stayed locked.
