Legend states Arbogast found favor with King Dagobert. The king appointed him Bishop of Strasbourg. Arbogast became known for his sanctity and miracles. One famous story tells of Arbogast raising Dagobert’s son from the dead. The son, Siegebert, was killed in a hunting accident. Dagobert summoned Arbogast. The holy man prayed. Siegebert miraculously rose from his burial shroud.
