East Hills Baptist Church began its journey around 1950. The church stands at the corner of Lehn and Forrest Roads, a short walk from the East Hills train station. East Hills Baptist Church welcomes everyone to their Sunday service at 10:30 am. Arrive a little early to soak in the atmosphere and receive a warm greeting. They encourage you to come as you are, no dress code required. The service is a blend of traditional and contemporary worship songs, announcements, prayers, Bible readings, and an engaging sermon from the pastor or a guest preacher. Afterwards, enjoy morning tea and fellowship in the hall. East Hills Baptist Church has something for all ages. During the school term, children can participate in Sunday Kids, a fun and stimulating program with music, stories, and crafts. Groups are divided by age: Discoverers (18 months-4 years), Investigators (Kindergarten-Year 2), Explorers (Years 3-5), and Sunday Youth (Years 6-10). For parents with newborns to 18-month-olds, there’s a Parent’s Room next to the main service area. It’s equipped with a lounge, change table, sink, and toys, allowing parents to care for their little ones while still participating in the service. During school holidays, a Holiday Kids program is available for children aged 3-11. All staff and volunteers working with children and youth have Working With Children Checks and Creating Safe Spaces training. East Hills Baptist Church also hosts a variety of other activities. These include a Friendship Group for seniors on Tuesdays, Girls’ Brigade, Playtime for preschoolers on Friday mornings, and various Bible study and fellowship groups.
