However, politics intervened, and the diocese was never established, but the Pfarrkirche stands as a testament to that ambitious vision. Imagine the scene on the 6th of June 1905. Emperor Franz Joseph I., along with prominent figures of the time, gathered for the laying of the cornerstone. The emperor’s presence attests to the significance and grandeur of the occasion, and the grand church stands as a symbol of that day. The church was meticulously erected following the plans of Franz Ritter von Neumann, a renowned architect. While the grand design was his, he tragically passed away before its completion. Thankfully, his colleagues, Karl Troll and Johann Stoppel, carried on his legacy, seeing the church through to its completion. The majestic church stands as a monument to his talent and perseverance.
