Imagine yourselves transported back to the 13th century. Dolní Bezděkov, along with nearby Horní Bezděkov, were prized possessions of the bishopric. A generous gift from King Přemysl Otakar II himself to the town of Beroun in 1268. The village then embarked on a journey through the hands of powerful figures. King John of Luxembourg granted it to his chamberlain Elbing, only for it to pass to Peter of Rosenberg upon Elbing’s death in 1331. Dolní Bezděkov’s fate became intertwined with the majestic Křivoklát Castle. After its sale in 1685, ownership transferred to the Count of Waldstein, and then to the Fürstenberg family in 1731.
