Emerging from the Maryland soil, Denton Hall stands tall. It’s a vital part of the University of Maryland’s vibrant tapestry. Denton Hall isn’t just bricks and mortar. It’s a living, breathing testament to generations of students who have called it home. This eight-story coed residence hall houses nearly 542 students. It offers a variety of room sizes, from singles to quads. Each floor features a shared community bathroom. Denton Hall is more than just a place to sleep. It’s a hub of activity, a place where friendships are forged and memories are made.

Denton Hall offers its residents a host of amenities. The building is fully air-conditioned, providing a comfortable escape from the Maryland heat. A laundry facility in the basement adds to the convenience. Each room is equipped with data jacks for phone and computer use, keeping residents connected. Located near the football stadium, Campus Recreation Center, and Stamp Student Union, Denton Hall offers easy access to campus life. The dining hall and a convenience store are just a short walk away. Most academic buildings and libraries are within a 15-minute walk. The University Shuttle also makes frequent stops nearby, ensuring easy and safe travel around campus.

Denton Hall has seen significant renovations over the years. In the early 2000s, the university embarked on a multi-phase project to modernize the hall and improve its energy efficiency. This included replacing the original aluminum windows with high-performance, thermally-broken versions. Insulation was added to exterior walls, and a new metal stud wall with abuse-resistant panels was constructed. This wall also houses upgraded electrical outlets. A new HVAC system was installed, providing both heating and cooling through fan coil units in every room. These renovations, completed in phases during the summers of 2009, 2010, and 2011, demonstrate the university’s commitment to providing a comfortable and modern living environment for its students. Denton Hall has been a part of the University of Maryland community for decades, witnessing countless student journeys. It continues to serve as a welcoming home for Terps, fostering a sense of belonging and connection.
