Founded in September 2007, David Productions, nestled in Nishitōkyō, Tokyo, has become a powerhouse of Japanese animation. Two former Gonzo producers, Kōji Kajita and Taito Okiura, dared to dream big. They envisioned a studio that could rival the giants, a modern-day David facing industry Goliaths. Thus, David Productions was born, its name a testament to their ambition. The studio’s philosophy is simple: “creating good animation with great storytelling & characters.” David Productions has consistently delivered on this promise. Their work on “Tatakau Shisho: The Book of Bantorra” caught the eye of Warner Bros. producer Hiroyuki Omori. He saw the “powerful linework and careful animation,” recognizing the potential to bring another iconic series to life. This led to David Productions landing the coveted project of animating “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure.” This series became a global phenomenon, solidifying the studio’s reputation for dynamic action and compelling narratives. David Productions didn’t stop there. They continued to adapt beloved manga and create original works. From “Cells at Work!” to “Fire Force,” their portfolio boasts a diverse range of genres and styles. David Productions even ventured into video game adaptations. They animated the whimsical “Hyperdimension Neptunia: The Animation” and the action-packed “Monster Hunter Stories: Ride On.” In 2014, Fuji Television recognized the studio’s talent and acquired David Productions. This partnership further propelled their growth and influence within the industry. David Productions remains a studio to watch, continuously pushing creative boundaries.
