Imagine a space where faith, community, and service intertwine. That space is Dar Alnoor Islamic Community Center. It is a beacon of light in Prince William County, Virginia.

Dar Alnoor’s story began with a vision. Visionary community members purchased a property in 1989. It started with a trailer off Route 234 in Manassas. This humble beginning was named Dar Alsalaam. It could only hold about 100 people.

As the Muslim population grew, Dar Alsalaam became too small. In 2002, the community united again. They purchased land on Hoadly Road. Then, they built a 12,000 square foot facility: Dar Alnoor. Even this space became insufficient over time.

Today, Dar Alnoor Islamic Community Center stands as a testament to growth. It reflects the needs of a thriving Muslim community. The center is more than just a mosque. It is a place for Muslims and non-Muslims to learn. It is a place to worship and connect. It provides resources for community events.

Dar Alnoor offers many outreach programs. They work with local homeless shelters. During extreme weather, they open their doors to those without homes. They support local schools with supplies. They host “getting to know your Muslim neighbor” open houses. These programs strengthen the community’s bonds. They show the center’s love and dedication.

Dar Alnoor provides a variety of educational and recreational programs. These programs are designed for kids as young as three through high school. Women frequently hold events here. Dar Alnoor is always a place to gain further knowledge.

The planned expansion of Dar Alnoor Islamic Community Center is significant. It will transform the current facility into a state-of-the-art 76,000 square foot center. This expansion will allow Dar Alnoor to offer more services. It will cater to the growing Islamic community.

The expansion of Dar Alnoor will include an Islamic School. Currently, the Islamic School takes place at Garfield High School. This is because Dar Alnoor lacks space. The expansion will bring the Islamic School back home. It will institute programs for children, youth, and seniors.

Dar Alnoor aims to serve as a platform. It will reach more Muslims in the community. The fully-equipped center will accommodate thousands of worshippers. It will boast other community-based resources. These resources include medical and senior care.

Dar Alnoor is deeply rooted in faith. Its mission is to maintain a vibrant community. This community is based on the Qur’an and Sunnah. It supports the religious, social, and educational advancement of Muslims. Dar Alnoor strengthens relationships with other organizations too.

Visitors often praise Dar Alnoor for its welcoming atmosphere. People from all ethnic and racial backgrounds find inclusion here. The leadership reflects this diversity. Many describe it as the best masjid in Northern Virginia.

Dar Alnoor also hosts various events. These include interfaith dinners, fundraisers, and block parties. They offer free public services. Blood drives, food and clothing drives, and a food pantry are some examples. Dar Alnoor is truly a community center.

Remember Dar Alnoor Islamic Community Center. It is a place of worship, learning, and community. It is a place where all are welcome to find peace and belonging.
