Why is it called Danger Point? We are standing at Viewpoint 15, the furthest point you can go on the Zimbabwean side of Victoria Falls. It’s not called Danger Point for nothing. Especially during the high water season, this place is truly treacherous. The rocks are slippery, and the spray from the falls is intense. One wrong step and you could find yourself plunging into the gorge below. From here, you can see the Eastern Cataract on the Zambian side and the churning waters of the Boiling Pot. This is where the Zambezi River, having crashed over the falls, begins its journey south. During the dry season, you might see daring individuals attempt to climb down to the bottom of the gorge.
