What if two churches, with different paths, were meant to become one? Here at the Crossing Church in Tampa, that “what if” became reality. The Crossing Church isn’t just a building. It’s a testament to a divine merger, a modern-day echo of Ezekiel’s prophecy. In April 2005, Crosstown Community Church and The Pointe Church joined together. Crosstown was searching for the right leader. The Pointe Church needed more space. It was a divine match. They merged to form the Crossing Church, a strong and unified congregation. This union reflects the biblical passage in Ezekiel 37:15-19, where two sticks, representing different tribes, become one in God’s hand. This story of unity isn’t just confined to the church’s history. In 2017, the Crossing Church’s creativity shone through in their unique retelling of the nativity story. They produced a short film, “Christmas: A Story of Promise,” told from the perspective of a rabbi named Simeon. Shot with an $8,000 budget and featuring church volunteers, the film showcased familiar elements with a fresh perspective. They filmed in various locations, from Plant City and Polk County to Orlando’s Holy Land Experience. The Crossing Church in Tampa is more than just a place of worship. It’s a community built on unity, creativity, and a commitment to sharing their faith through various mediums. Their story is a reminder that sometimes, seemingly disparate paths can converge to create something powerful and new.
