This grand building, completed in 1980, wasn’t always the home of British Columbia’s highest court. Originally, the court resided in what we now know as the Vancouver Art Gallery. Can you imagine the hushed whispers of legal arguments echoing through those halls, now filled with the strokes of artistic brilliance? The Court of Appeal & Supreme Court is a place where life-altering decisions are made, where the fate of individuals and the course of justice intertwine. Within these walls, fifteen justices, appointed by the federal government, deliberate on appeals from lower courts, their judgments shaping the legal landscape of British Columbia.
