Cornerstone Assembly of God Church’s journey began in the 1980s with a small congregation of about 75 people and young pastors Charlie and Brenda Young. They nurtured their growing flock with love and dedication. By the end of the decade, the church family had blossomed to 200 members. The Young family also grew, adding three children. The congregation embraced the Young children with the same love and guidance they showed their parents. They couldn’t have known these children would one day lead their own children and grandchildren to Jesus. The 1990s saw continued growth, fueled by the dedication of the members. These individuals poured their hearts into loving God and each other. As the new millennium dawned, Cornerstone Assembly of God Church, like the rest of the world, was filled with hopes and dreams. The church earned a reputation for meeting needs and caring for others, reflecting the love of Jesus. This reputation spread throughout the community, city, and even the state. Pastor Brenda Young’s “I HAVE A DREAM” message introduced the church’s mission: “helping people find the Father, a Family, and a Fulfilling Future.” This mission was rooted in prayer, leading to the establishment of a strong prayer ministry within the church. An unexpected event further propelled these prayer efforts forward. The following decade, 2010-2019, saw Cornerstone Assembly of God Church remain committed to its mission. The church experienced both celebrations and heartbreaks, sharing tears of joy and sorrow. Through it all, the overarching vision remained: “making a successful pass of a vital, relevant faith to new generations.” The church worked tirelessly, hand-in-hand with God, to make this vision a reality. God’s steadfast presence remained a constant. The church held firmly to His promises as they embarked on their next chapter together. 2020 marked a pivotal year for Cornerstone Assembly of God Church. It was a year of unexpected challenges and opportunities. The church navigated the uncertainties of a global pandemic, continuing to reach out and support its community. Their unwavering faith and dedication allowed them to provide resources, give generously, and serve with excellence.
