“Aricanduva,” a voice booms across the construction site, echoing the name of the very station rising from the ground before us. Construção Estação Aricanduva, a key piece of São Paulo’s future, pulses with the energy of progress. Here, amidst the clang of machinery and the shouts of workers, a new chapter in the city’s transportation story is being written. The Construção Estação Aricanduva isn’t just another stop on the metro map. It’s a testament to the city’s ever-evolving vision. Did you know that the idea for a station near Avenida Aricanduva was first conceived way back in 1999? Part of a grand plan called PITU 2020, it envisioned a station at the intersection of Avenidas Aricanduva and Itaquera. While the location shifted, the dream persisted. The current Construção Estação Aricanduva, part of the Linha 2-Verde expansion, is set to open its doors in 2027. Imagine the bustling crowds that will soon flow through this very spot. Think of the connections forged, the journeys begun and ended right here. The station itself will be a marvel. Employing the “poços secantes” construction method, used effectively in the Linha 5-Lilás, it will boast spacious platforms built upon a sturdy foundation. Construção Estação Aricanduva’s unique design involves six circular sections forming a robust retaining structure. Over 17,000 cubic meters of containment, 140,000 cubic meters of excavation, and 45,000 cubic meters of concrete will shape this vital transport hub. The construction process is a meticulous dance of precision and power. The recent concreting of the bottom slab of Poço 6 was a feat of engineering. It involved a continuous 17-hour operation, pumping almost 2,000 cubic meters of concrete into the heart of the structure. Every batch of concrete undergoes rigorous quality checks, from slump tests to temperature readings, ensuring the station’s lasting strength. Construção Estação Aricanduva represents not just an infrastructural advancement, but a symbol of São Paulo’s ambition, connecting communities and propelling the city forward. As we stand here, on the cusp of its completion, we witness the birth of a new landmark, a gateway to the future of São Paulo.
