Trieste’s scientific heart beats strong near Condotta a S dell’Area di Ricerca. Area Science Park is a major force. It drives research and innovation in Italy. Infrastructure projects started under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan PNRR. The PRP@CERIC project studies pathogens. It aims to combat disease outbreaks. NFFA-DI seeks to create a research infrastructure for nanoscience.

Today Area Science Park manages Italy’s main science park. About 60 businesses, startups, and research centers reside here. They are in two campuses. These are in Padriciano and Basovizza. The park includes 80000 square meters of equipped facilities. Around 2800 people work here every day.
