Stepping inside the world of visual storytelling, we find ourselves at the College of Communication here in Taipei. Established in 1955, the College of Communication actually began as the Printing Technology and Arts department. As times changed and technology evolved, so did the department’s name. It transitioned to the Department of Graphic Arts and then finally became what we know today as the College of Communication. What’s quite fascinating is that this institution blends the study of radio, television, motion picture and graphic communication arts all within a single college. This unique approach makes it the only university college in Taiwan to do so. Within its walls, you’ll find the Department of Graphic Communication Arts and the Department of Motion Picture, both pioneers in their respective fields in Taiwan. Over the years, they’ve amassed incredible experience and valuable resources, shaping the landscape of media education in the country.
