“Soccer balls for everyone!” Does that sound like something you’d expect to hear in Trinidad Cuba?
Trinidad is Cuba’s third oldest city. It is a place steeped in cultural history. I want to share a unique story about giving back to the community there.
Imagine yourself there. You are driving through the countryside near the Bay of Pigs. You have a soccer ball in hand. You see a group of children playing soccer. But they are using a tattered old ball. You stop and give them a new ball. You kick it around with them for a bit. Then you leave them to enjoy their new game. This simple act of kindness created a lasting memory. It showed the warmth and generosity of the Cuban people.
I stayed in a local casa. From the rooftop, I saw the beauty of Trinidad. It was clear that Trinidad is a place of vibrant culture. It is also a place where small gestures can make a big difference. The people here appreciate every little thing.
