“Called to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ.” These words encapsulate the very essence of Colchester Free Will Baptist Church. But this isn’t about just any church. This is about a community, a history, and a testament to faith.
Let me tell you the story of Colchester Free Will Baptist Church. It began in October 1955. Twelve dedicated Christians established it. They gathered in a humble one-room schoolhouse. This schoolhouse was on Wakefield Chapel Road in Annandale Virginia.
The congregation was small but their spirit was strong. They purchased land in 1956. They built a new church. The corner of Colchester Road and Popes Head Road in Fairfax Virginia became their new home. The church opened its doors on August 5th 1956.
For many years Colchester Free Will Baptist Church served its community from this location. Generations passed through its doors. They found solace, guidance and fellowship. But time moves on. Needs change. In 2005 a significant decision was made.
The congregation voted to move. They purchased an existing church. This church was located at 10405 Schaeffer Lane Nokesville Virginia. This became the new home of Colchester Free Will Baptist Church.
Now here we stand. We stand before a place of worship. It is a beacon of faith. Colchester Free Will Baptist Church continues its mission. It proclaims the Gospel. It upholds the teachings of the King James Bible. It inspires a love for Christ. The church fosters a passion for righteousness. It instills a sense of duty to God and fellow humans.
