Civic Center Station links Line 2 and Line 4 of the Shenzhen Metro. Imagine the rumble beneath your feet as trains arrive. The Line 4 platforms emerged first on December 28, 2004. Later, Line 2 platforms opened on June 28, 2011. This station is located under Fuzhong 3rd Road and Shennan Boulevard. Think of it as the crossroads of Shenzhen’s modern life.

Navigating Civic Center Station is simple. Multiple exits lead to different destinations. Exit A takes you to Jintian Road. It also connects to the Great China International Trade Plaza. Need a hotel? The Sheraton Shenzhen Futian Hotel is nearby. Exit B leads to Fuzhong 3rd Road. The Central Walk Shopping Mall is another attraction. Exit C gets you to Fuzhong 3rd Road again, and the Convention & Exhibition Center. Exit D guides you toward Shennan Boulevard and the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Shenzhen.
The Civic Center building, accessible from the station, reflects Shenzhen’s ambition. Designed by Lee/Timchula Architects, it won an international competition in 1996. The design evokes a traditional Southern Chinese roof. Some say it resembles an eagle, Shenzhen’s symbol.
Initially, the roof was intended to use solar panels but that was removed for cost reasons. The roof spans 486 meters. It has a width of 154 meters. The Civic Center building stands 84.7 meters tall.
The Citizen’s Center Building serves multiple purposes. It houses government offices. You’ll also find a technology museum. A conference center is also inside. The building provides shade from the summer heat. It is a popular spot for watching celebrations. Drone and LED light shows often light up the sky. Interior gardens and vast parkland surround the building, providing a green escape.
