Is it possible for a building to hold more than bricks and mortar? At Christusbund Waiblingen – LKG, the answer is a resounding yes. This isn’t just a building. It’s a living testament to faith, community, and the power of shared belief. Christusbund Waiblingen – LKG, affiliated with the Christusbund Bezirk Remstal e.V., stands as an independent entity within the Evangelical Landeskirche in Württemberg. This vibrant community is one of twelve within the Remstal district. Its very foundation rests upon the purpose of nurturing and fostering Christian life. The belief in the resurrected Jesus Christ binds the members together, despite their individual differences. A personal relationship with God and adherence to the Bible are central to their lives. The Christusbund Waiblingen – LKG community gathers every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. for services. The congregation, numbering between 50 and 100 people, worships in German. Childcare is provided during the service. For those seeking deeper engagement, the Christusbund Waiblingen – LKG offers Bible studies, prayer meetings, and intimate Hauskreise (home circles). These smaller groups foster closer connections and provide opportunities for spiritual growth. The story of Christusbund Waiblingen – LKG begins in 1915. A small group of Christians began meeting in Waiblingen, calling themselves the “Landeskirchliche Gemeinschaft” (LKG). They found guidance for their lives in the Word of God and communal prayer. Initially, they gathered at the Evangelical Vereinshaus, later moving to the Jakob-Andreä-Haus, relying on lay preachers to deliver sermons. In 1975, the umbrella organization of the LKG, the Christusbund, decided to purchase a house for the Waiblingen community. Their first meeting in the new location on Fuggerstraße 45 took place in December of that year. From this point, the community blossomed. Alongside the main gatherings, youth groups and a youth circle formed, providing spaces for younger members to connect. Adults continued to meet for Bible study and prayer. Over time, a Saturday evening tea room became a popular hub for Waiblingen’s youth. A teen circle, a young adult group, and various Hauskreise emerged, offering diverse avenues for fellowship. Seminars were held, prayer circles formed, and a series of events called “Forum im Gemeinschaftshaus” addressed current issues and showcased artistic and cultural offerings. Even a booth at Waiblingen’s Altstadtfest became a platform for outreach and connection. From humble beginnings to its current vibrant state, Christusbund Waiblingen – LKG continues to serve as a beacon of faith. It reminds us that a building can hold much more than just its physical structure. It can hold the hopes, dreams, and shared spiritual journey of a community united by faith.
