The Choh-Ming Li Basic Medical Sciences Building fosters multidisciplinary integration. It encourages collaboration among students.
The building offers tutorial rooms. It boasts state-of-the-art teaching laboratories. Computer rooms enhance the learning experience. A learning common area encourages interaction.
Dr. Choh-Ming Li was the founding Vice-Chancellor of CUHK. He laid the foundation stone in 1978. Upon his retirement, the university named the building after him. This honored his contributions.
Back then, the building offered views of Ma On Shan. It was hilly and sparsely populated. Today, high-rise buildings dominate the landscape. Ma On Shan is now ablaze with lights at night.
The PacificPlan Team completed this building in October 2013. It joins a list of notable institutions they’ve worked with. This list includes CUHK Main Library and The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. It also includes Lingnan University and The Hang Seng University of Hong Kong. CityU PhD Library and LingU Leo Dr David P Chan Data Science Programme Learning Resources Centre are also on the list.
