Chinese and Australian Baptist Church Thornleigh

Founded in July 1989 the Chinese and Australian Baptist Church Thornleigh stands proudly. It’s a testament to faith and community. This vibrant church on Pennant Hills Road has a rich history. It began much earlier though. In 1984 Reverend Joseph Fung answered a divine call. He and Reverend Burman from Eastwood Baptist Church reached out. They ministered to the Cantonese-speaking Chinese community. Their efforts resulted in the establishment of the CABC Thornleigh. The church’s core remains the Word of God. Sunday worship Sunday school cell groups and fellowships all center around scripture. The church never forgot the Great Commission. From the start a mission fund supported local and overseas missions. The church’s multicultural nature is evident. Services are held in English Mandarin and Cantonese. The church offers a welcoming atmosphere. People from all ages find a home within its walls. It’s a family. A spiritual family united by faith. The church’s current Acting Senior Pastor is Peter Dart. He leads alongside Chinese pastors Herbert Chan and Vincent Cheung and English Pastor Michael Leader. The church continues its mission. It proclaims Christ and witnesses the power of the Gospel. This beautiful picture is a reflection of the church’s dedication. It’s a place where the gospel need of the community is met. The church actively spreads the word of God supporting missions both locally and abroad. It stands as a beacon of hope and faith. A place where cultures and languages blend harmoniously. A place where the word of God is cherished and shared. The Chinese and Australian Baptist Church Thornleigh remains a vibrant community. This community continues to grow in faith. They spread God’s love to all who enter its doors.
