Founded in 1995 Chan’s Creative School stands proudly in Hong Kong’s bustling Deep Water Bay. It’s a testament to the vision of the Chan’s Education Foundation. The school initially occupied only the third floor of an older building. There were just three classes for Primary 1 and a single Primary 2 class added due to parental demand. Approximately 100 students attended in the first year.
Chan’s Creative School quickly outgrew its initial space. A new wing was constructed. In 1998 the school moved into its expanded facilities. The older building was repurposed as an arts center for after-school activities. The growth continued. In 2000 the school had its first graduation ceremony. Fourteen students received their diplomas. That same year a robotics team representing Chan’s Creative School competed in the International Robot Olympiad in Korea. They represented Hong Kong.
Over the years Chan’s Creative School organized numerous trips. These included educational excursions to London Shanghai and across mainland China. Students explored modern history. They engaged in cultural and artistic immersion. These trips were integral to the school’s philosophy. Chan’s Creative School became renowned for its dedication to enriching the educational experience. The school received numerous accolades. The school was even awarded the silver medal by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council.
The school’s leadership also changed over time. Ms Mok Fung Yee served as the first principal. She was succeeded by Ms Chan Mei Ngan. Ms Yee retired in 2013. The school continued to evolve and innovate. It expanded its curriculum to incorporate STEM education and e-learning. Chan’s Creative School even established a string orchestra. The school’s dedication to its students is evident. Its commitment to providing a dynamic and enriching education is apparent.
Chan’s Creative School’s 25th anniversary was celebrated with great enthusiasm. The school expanded its facilities. The school published commemorative books and albums showcasing student work. Chan’s Creative School remains a cornerstone of the Deep Water Bay community. It continues to nurture young minds. It provides a unique and fulfilling education.
