Then, a remarkable transformation occurred. The Brazilian Ministry of Education (MEC) recognized its excellence. Centro Universidade Piaget was granted university status. This was a momentous occasion, marked by a ceremony on November 23rd. Dignitaries from Suzano and the region attended. Lúcia Marques Pereira, president of UniPiaget and director of the Escola Superior de Saúde Jean Piaget de Viseu was present. António Oliveira Cruz, founder and president of the Instituto Piaget, also graced the event. This new status as Centro Universidade Piaget, or UniPiaget, brings exciting changes. The university now has more autonomy. It can introduce new courses without prior approval from the MEC, significantly streamlining the process. Previously, launching a new course could take two years. Now, Centro Universidade Piaget is poised to expand its offerings rapidly, catering to the regional demand. They plan to double their current 16 courses. Five new additions are already slated for next year. This expansion extends beyond academics. A fourth building is planned for the campus, expected to open its doors to students in 2024. This physical growth mirrors the university’s burgeoning intellectual landscape.
