The history of CBC St John’s Parklands tells a story of resilience. In the late 1990s, CBC St John’s in Green Point faced challenges. Enrollment declined and the school needed a new vision. In 2001, the Board of Governors made a bold decision. They relocated St John’s to Parklands. The Green Point facility closed in December 2001. It had served the community for 67 years.

The Parklands facility began construction in February 2002. By October 2002, only 60 students had enrolled. But in January 2003, CBC St John’s Parklands opened. It welcomed 236 students and 23 staff members. The school overcame many obstacles.

CBC St John’s Parklands includes a Senior School. There is also a Primary School and a Pre-Primary. The Pre-Primary has nine classes. These classes are divided into three year groups. There are Grade 00, Grade 0, and Grade R groups. Each classroom has an experienced educator. A capable assistant supports them.

The Pre-Primary’s structure is designed for young children. Classrooms are bright. They also have a comforting atmosphere. Playing is vital to the curriculum. Educators guide learning through play.

Children are assessed monthly. Their development is closely monitored. Occupational therapists and a child psychologist are available. A speech therapist visits to assist with language or speech challenges.
