They opened the Cassiopeia Bühne in 1999 as a complement to their touring theater, also named Cassiopeia Theater, founded in 1989. The Cassiopeia Theater isn’t confined to these walls. It travels, bringing its magic to audiences across the German-speaking world. Here at the Cassiopeia Theater, every performance is unique. The team produces original plays and collaborates with other theaters. Many of the family-friendly productions are world premieres. The Cassiopeia Theater is a blend of traditional puppetry and modern storytelling. Large puppets share the stage with actors. Original music, often composed by Claudia Hann, weaves through each performance. In 2008, the Cassiopeia Bühne moved to its current location in Köln-Holweide. In 2021, the Cassiopeia Theater expanded further. They introduced a mobile, open-air stage. This stage allows them to bring their unique brand of theater to even more audiences. The Cassiopeia Theater hosts around 200-230 events each year. It has performances for families and evening shows for adults and teenagers. This dynamic theater company offers more than just performances. They also run the “Cassiopeia TheaterVerlag”. This publishing house releases plays, children’s books, audio books, and poetry.
