Do you remember the name Carola Williams? Maybe not, but it was a big deal in Cologne! Today, we stand on a small green space, a tribute to Carola Williams, a woman who brought joy and excitement to this city. She was a circus director and with her family had a long history in the world of dazzling and thrilling audiences. She loved Cologne and built a huge, iconic winter tent called Williamsbau, a place where people could enjoy everything from performances to sport events. The Williamsbau wasn’t just a tent, it was a heart of the city, a place where even the most serious person relaxed and enjoyed themselves. This is why the area is now named Carola-Williams-Park, a small reminder of a big lady who made Cologne more fun.
