Interestingly the b\u00fdval\u00fd Zimn\u00ed stadion Nikolajka was intended to open for the World Figure Skating Championships in 1961. However a tragic plane crash involving the US figure skating team led to the cancellation of the event. This unfortunate event delayed the stadium’s grand opening.
