Picture this: two towering structures connected. This is Blueridge Hall and Sandbridge. Home to around 400 George Mason University students. They share a campus location. Blueridge Hall is more than just a dorm. It houses the Business and Entrepreneurship Residential Learning Community. It also houses the Schar School Democracy Lab Residential Learning Community.
Blueridge Hall and Sandbridge are suite-style. Two to five students share a suite. Each suite includes double triple or single bedrooms. They share a bathroom within the suite. Each floor boasts a central lounge. It’s a place for students to socialize. Shared laundry facilities are also available. Conveniently located on the first floor are The Ridge and One Stop Patriot Shop.
Built in 1948 and 1949 Blueridge Hall’s story reaches further than George Mason University. Its name pays tribute to the Blue Ridge College of New Windsor Maryland. That college had an affiliation with Bridgewater College from 1929 to 1937. While the current Blueridge Hall is a modern facility it carries a legacy. It’s a connection to a rich past. The hall has undergone renovations in 1988. It now offers modern conveniences. Amenities include elevators lounges Wi-Fi cable-ready rooms and vending machines.
Rooms are furnished with adjustable beds. They include windows closets dressers desks and chairs. Each room has Wi-Fi Ethernet cable and mobile ID or swipe card access. Blueridge Hall is much more than just a place to sleep. It’s a vibrant hub. It’s a community. It is a testament to continuous growth and modernization. A perfect blend of old and new.
