Considering a space where art meets light? That’s Bildraum 07. This gallery is located at Burggasse 7-9 in Vienna. Bildraum 07 isn’t just any gallery. It is a place where artists explore complex ideas.

Bildraum 07 has hosted exhibitions by former artists-in-residence. Sophie Dvořák, once a resident at the Swatch Art Peace Hotel, showcased her work here. Her exhibition, titled “The unlikely collision of generally uncoordinated vectors,” invited viewers to negotiate the world’s complexity.

Dvořák’s goal wasn’t to give answers. She aimed to open new perspectives through her art. Objects transformed into landscapes under her vision. Archipelagos and mountains emerged from incidental details. Bildraum 07 became a space for poetic transformation during her exhibition.

Another artist, Bardh-I rafet Jonuzi-T, presented “Wedding of Light” at Bildraum 07. His exhibition ran from December 11, 2024, to January 16, 2025. Jonuzi-T explored color theories in his work. He combined light and pigment colors based on scientific principles.

Jonuzi-T drew inspiration from Thomas Young’s three-color theory. Physicist J. C. Maxwell further developed this theory. Maxwell proved the importance of primary colors for human vision. This became the basis for modern color display systems.

The artist used plastic glass discs. He applied texts with precision in three different color systems. Each color was applied with around 260 strokes. This technique gave the series great depth. It evoked cosmic landscapes, creating a unique visual experience at Bildraum 07.

Bildraum 07 provides a platform for artists. They can experiment and share their unique perspectives with the world. The gallery invites viewers to engage with art. They can explore complex ideas and find new meanings.

So, as you stand here, consider the dialogues between color and light that have occurred within these walls. Think about the artists who have contributed to Bildraum 07. Let your mind wander through the artistic expressions.
