“Transformed community” is more than just a phrase. It’s the driving force behind Bettaway Community Church. Here we stand before a beacon of hope in Delft South. It is a place where faith meets action.
Bettaway Community Church is not just a building. It’s a vision in motion. The church aims to create authentic believers. They want to see Delft transformed by the gospel. People will come to know Jesus as their Lord.
Clive and Glenda McMinn lead this church. They guide Bettaway Community Church toward its goals. The church wants to make disciples by teaching the Word of God.
Bettaway Community Church wants to make its community better. They feed people spiritually, emotionally, and physically. They walk with those in need. This includes people in informal settlements and asbestos houses. Poverty, AIDS, unemployment, and crime are common here.
Since 2011, Bettaway Community Services has been active. It is a well-established NPO. They focus on education to break the cycle of poverty. Their Bettaway Learning Support Centre is critical. Around 80 students attend every weekday afternoon. They get help with schoolwork. This builds confidence and skills.
The church also runs a feeding scheme. It reduces hunger and improves nutrition. Qualified teachers and volunteers run the BLSC. They create a safe and supportive environment. This approach helps children meet their needs. It fosters a love for learning and a sense of community. WiFi and internet access are vital to their success. This allows students to use digital learning tools.
You can support Bettaway Community Services. Donate non-perishable foods for the BLSC feeding scheme. Donate reading material for all grades.
Bettaway Community Church exemplifies faith in action. It is more than a place of worship. It is a center for change. It is a symbol of hope for Delft.
