“Established in 1926.” That’s not just a date etched in history. It marks the beginning of Beaches Presbyterian Church. Here we are standing before a building with a story that intertwines faith and community.
Beaches Presbyterian Church emerged from a pivotal moment. It was a time of change when Kew Beach Presbyterian Church voted to unite with the United Church of Canada in 1925. However not everyone agreed. Dissenting members chose to maintain their Presbyterian roots. Thus Beaches Presbyterian Church was born.
Rev. George M. Dunn became the first minister. He was inducted in 1926 and served until 1929. Under his leadership the church found its footing. A sanctuary was completed in 1926. This provided a space for worship and fellowship.
The Beaches Presbyterian Church continued to grow. In 1957 a church hall was added. This new space expanded the church’s capacity to serve its community. It became a place for gatherings events and ministries.
Today Beaches Presbyterian Church remains an active part of the community. You can join them in person or on Zoom every Sunday at 10:00 am. They also have a Facebook page and website.
