Feel the G-force. That’s the Backlot Stunt Coaster for you. Right here before your eyes is a testament to thrilling rides. This isn’t just any roller coaster. It’s a high-speed adventure that will leave you breathless. Originally the Italian Job Stunt Track it opened in 2005 at Canada’s Wonderland. The ride was owned by Paramount Parks.

The Backlot Stunt Coaster is a launched coaster. That means it doesn’t use a traditional lift hill. Instead it uses linear induction motors. These motors propel the coaster to speeds of up to 64 kilometers per hour in less than 10 seconds. Think of the power of 1500 horsepower launching you forward.

Imagine the Mini Cooper S cars. They were 75% scale models. Approved by MINI themselves they even had real headlights and taillights. The original cars were equipped with subwoofers and tactile transducers. This enhanced the audio experience. Magnets activated the audio at different points in the ride. Each car had a power slide effect to simulate fishtailing. Sadly most of the original special effects were removed during the conversion to Backlot Stunt Coaster.

The ride itself is a wild chase. You’ll twist and turn through a three-story parking garage. You’ll dodge police cars around high-banked turns. It’s a non-stop adrenaline rush from beginning to end. The Backlot Stunt Coaster is the only launch coaster in the park. It’s a must-do experience for thrill seekers of all ages. Just remember the height restriction is 48 inches. Enjoy the ride. The Backlot Stunt Coaster is waiting for you.
